If you are a Kim Possible fan, and especially a Save Kim Possible supporter, this is a very exciting time right now. Kim Possible was renewed for a 4th season with 22 new episodes. Read all the news releases on the "KP 411" page and you'll see the Save Kim Possible movement played a huge part in getting this renewal. Perhaps Kim alone couldn't defeat Eisner and his 65 episode rule, but when all of her fans had her back, this once again proved: When it comes to Kim Possible and her fans, we can do anything! Congratulations to everyone involved!
The Save Kim Possible and Mission Kim Possible movement will not go away though. We are now focused on getting a 5th season to total around 100 episodes and also full season boxed sets.
As you are visiting this page you might be wondering, "Save Kim Possible? Save her from what? She saves the world. Why would she need to be saved?"
Well Kim Possible has one enemy that even she cannot defeat. That is Michael Eisner, CEO of Disney. A long time ago Mr. Eisner set a 65 episode policy that made sure all Disney shows ended production at 65 episodes regardless of how popular the show was.
Like many I just assumed Kim Possible would go on forever. It seemed so popular, why in anyone’s right mind would they ever end production of this show, especially when merchandise like DVDs, CDs, clothing and toys are still selling like hotcakes? It was only when I stumbled across Mission Kim Possible that I truly learned what was happening to this show.
Mission Kim Possible is a Yahoo! Group that is associated with Save Kim Possible. Their mission is simple, to bring the show Kim Possible back into production. All 65 episodes have been produced as of February 2005. Even though the show still has a few more new episodes to air, this show has in fact ended production. We do not think it’s fair for Disney to end production of this show, one that has fans from ages 5 to 55, based solely on an out of date business policy. And they will not produce anymore new episodes, unless we the fans speak up and demand more new episodes of Kim Possible. So the choice is now yours. You can either: sit back, accept Disney’s decisions, and watch endless reruns for years to come. Or you can make a difference and speak up. We give you the tools and knowledge to make a difference.
Save Kim Possible is associated with Save Disney Shows. Save Disney Shows is focused on saving not only Kim Possible, but other shows such as Lilo and Stitch, American Dragon Jake Long and Phil of the Future. These shows will all soon face the same 65 episode fate that Kim Possible is now facing, unless we can make a difference.
We are also dedicated to exposing and eliminating Disney’s 65 episode policy so current and future Disney shows do not have to suffer the same fate. For more info on the 65 episode policy visit the 65 Episodes: Fact or Fiction? site. We also believe Disney should take some of its classic programming out of the vault and create a "Vault Disney" channel and/or release season box sets. These shows include, but are not limited to, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Gargoyles and Gummi Bears. For more info visit the SDS Older Shows site. We also believe Disney should release season box sets of its more recent shows that have ended because of the 65 episode policy. This includes shows such as Recess, Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire.
Like I said we give you the tools and knowledge to make a difference. We have a way where you can send an e-mail to Disney in less than five seconds. You can learn where to send letters and what phone numbers to call to reach Disney. That info is on the very important SDS How to Help page. We tell you how to send a fax to Disney using only your computer here. Print out the Kim Possible petition. Print out and pass around the Save Kim Possible and Save Lilo and Stitch flyers.
I am now co-webmaster at Save Disney Shows. Visit my bio page to learn what areas of Save Disney Shows I’m involved in. And if you have any questions just send me e-mail at wayne@savedisneyshows.org.
